qualifying card to the quarter-finals of the 2022 World Cup, by defeating its
counterpart, the Australian national team, with a score of 2-1.
And that was in the match that brought together the two
teams at “Ahmed Bin Ali” stadium, as part of the round of 16 competitions in
the Qatar World Cup 2022.

Messi also scored the first goal for Argentina against
Australia, and this goal is the first in his history in the knockout stages of
the World Cup, and his third goal in this World Cup.
Lionel Messi raised his goals in the history of his
participation in the World Cup to 9 goals, surpassing the goals of Argentine
legend Diego Armando Maradona, as well as Portuguese Cristiano Ronaldo with 8
goals.
The Argentine legend Lionel Messi, the player of the French
team Paris Saint-Germain, also played his 1,000th match in his football career
full of titles and achievements, against Australia.
